User Guide
How to use Moonfin on a Roku day to day: the remote inside the player, typing, finding things, and making the app look the way you want. For the first-time setup see Getting Started.

When a Skip Intro, Skip Credits or Up Next prompt is on screen, OK takes it.
The skip lengths are under Settings > Playback > Video Playback Preferences. With controls up, the buttons along the bottom cover audio and subtitle tracks, chapters, subtitle timing and the rest. Which buttons show, and their order, is under Player Buttons in the same screen.
- Before pressing Play, the movie or episode page lets you pick the audio and subtitle track. Your pick is remembered for the rest of a series.
- Inside the player, use the audio and subtitle buttons in the controls.
- Defaults live under Settings > Playback > Audio Preferences (preferred and fallback language, audio description) and Subtitle Preferences (Subtitle Mode, default and fallback language, prefer SDH).
- Subtitles out of step with the picture: open Adjust Subtitle Timing from the player controls and nudge the offset until it matches.
Under Settings > Playback > Automation & Queue:
- Media Segment Actions decide whether intros and credits are skipped on their own, offered as a button, or left alone.
- Up Next Card and its timeout control the countdown at the end of an episode, and Replace Skip Outro With Up Next merges the two prompts.
- Are You Still Watching Popup and Autoplay Episode Limit stop a series from running all night.
Cinema Mode under Settings > Playback plays trailers or pre-rolls before a film when the server provides them.
Under Settings > Playback > Video Playback Preferences:
- Bitrate Limit caps the stream when your network can't keep up. Lower it if playback keeps stalling.
- Maximum Resolution does the same for a 1080p TV fed 4K files.
- Compatibility and Force Transcoding make the server convert everything, for the rare Roku that misreports what it can play.
- Video Codec Support and Video Profile Level Support are the manual overrides behind that.
Every text field opens Moonfin's own keyboard rather than the Roku one. The letter rows follow your language, holding a key offers accented versions, and there are symbol and number pages. Server addresses and usernames you used before are suggested as you type. Passwords never are.

- Search on the navigation bar searches every connected server, and Seerr when it's set up. Posters load after the results, so it's fast.
- In-library search finds something inside one library without leaving it, and the sort and filter dialog there matches the other Moonfin apps.
- Shuffle shows five random picks from a library, a genre, or everything. Genres browses by category. Both buttons can be shown or hidden under Settings > Moonfin Settings > Navigation.
- Libraries can show as landscape, portrait or square grids with your own column counts, under Settings > User Interface > Libraries.
- Live TV has a guide with channel logos, and recordings play with a single press.
When your server has Seerr connected through the Moonbase plugin, and you've turned it on and signed in under Settings > Moonfin Plugin > Seerr, titles you don't own open the same page as the ones you do, with a Request button (and 4K when offered), a status chip, and per-season availability. A requests and issues screen lists everything pending, approved and available. Setup steps are on Seerr Setup.

With the Moonbase plugin these choices sync to your other devices.
Sign in to each server from the server screen. With Settings > User Interface > Libraries > Multi-Server Libraries on, everything shows together and plays from whichever server has it. Your avatar on the navigation bar switches between accounts and servers.
Settings > Moonfin Settings > Diagnostics has Diagnostic Logging, a View Logs screen, and Send Crash Reports, which uploads crash reports to your own server and nowhere else. Common Problems lists the usual fixes.
