How the desk works

Connect opens a direct link to the Lyra in the address box. Spectrum, tuning, and receiver audio travel between those two programs. No outside server is in the path.

Tuning

VFO A tunes by the step under it: 1 Hz, 10 Hz, 100 Hz, 500 Hz, 1 kHz, or 10 kHz.

  • A click or a drag on the spectrum lands on that step.
  • The wheel over the spectrum tunes by that step. Ctrl+wheel zooms.
  • Click a digit, then roll the wheel or use the arrow keys, to move that place. Shift is ten times the step.
  • Type a frequency and press Enter. 7.147 is MHz, 7147 is kHz, 7147000 is hertz.
  • Drag a passband edge to change the filter width.

Mode, filter, SUB, and split follow the focused receiver. The band row recalls the last frequency and mode this browser used on that band.

CW pitch shows in CW, from 200 to 1500 Hz in steps of 10. It is the radio's pitch.

Second receiver

SUB turns RX2 on. RX2 gets its own mode row, filter row, band row, and S-meter. Those band buttons remember RX2 and leave RX1 where it is. Click a digit on the second frequency, or roll the wheel there, to tune RX2.

Audio

Listen plays Lyra on this computer. The speaker slider is local to the browser.

Vol and Mute radio change the RX1 speaker on the radio. Vol 2 and Mute 2 change the RX2 speaker, and they show while SUB is on.

The left ear of Listen is RX1. The right ear is RX2 when Lyra sends the two receivers separately.

Noise reduction stays on the Lyra Audio panel. The audio this page plays is already past that processing, so you hear it here. This page does not add its own NR control.

Spectrum

Span, scale, color, speed, and line smoothing stay in this browser. Floor and top are relative levels, not a power reading. The S-meter is a row of labeled blocks from S1 to S9+60, with the S-unit in large type and dBm beside it.

Layout

Each section has arrow buttons.

  • ← and → dock that section on the left or the right, flush under the section above.
  • ↑ and ↓ move it inside that column. At the end of a column it can cross a full-width row into the next column group.
  • Full spans the width. Half returns a full section to a column.
  • Hide folds it. The last open section in a short column grows down to the taller neighbor.
  • Reset layout restores Tuning beside Transmit, the spectrum full width, and Audio beside Bands.
  • Export layout and Import layout move that arrangement as a JSON file. The password is not in the file.

This browser remembers the arrangement. A narrow window stacks the two columns.
