Transmit

Connecting does not move the desk microphone. Press Start voice when you want this computer's microphone on the radio.

Start voice

  1. Set a remote password in Lyra under Settings → Remote before you transmit. The phrase is 12 to 128 characters. Lyra stores only a one-way hash.
  2. On the page, press Start voice. Type the phrase only when Lyra asks. The box clears as the check starts. The phrase is not saved in this page.
  3. Pick the microphone on this computer.
  4. MOX sends that microphone. Tune sends a carrier from Lyra and does not use the microphone.

A correct proof receives a session token held only in memory, for that connection. Closing the page or pressing disconnect drops it. The next connection proves the password again.

While the session is on, Lyra takes transmit audio from that browser, steps the speech rack aside, and parks the leveler. Those changes stay off Settings. Disconnect, or the end of the session, puts the desk microphone, the rack, and the leveler back.

One voice session owns the microphone. A second remote does not take it. End the session before a digital program transmits. See Digital programs.

Mic, equalizer, TX RF

Mic is −20 to +20 dB, kept in this browser. It changes the samples before they are sent. It does not change the Lyra desk mic gain.

Low, Mid, and High are the page equalizer, because the speech rack is stepped aside for the voice session. MOX sends the microphone after that equalizer and the Mic slider.

TX RF is the same percent as the Lyra TX panel. Dragging it changes the radio. The page reads the percent from Lyra when it connects, so it does not push a saved value on load. Nearby percents can land on the same power: the radio's drive control is coarse.

Enable PA stays on the Lyra TX panel. This page does not turn the PA on.

Meters

Meter What it shows
RF out Measured forward power, in watts
SWR Antenna match, once forward power reaches half a watt
Mic This computer's level once the microphone is open. Lyra's own mic reading while you are transmitting
ALC Limiter headroom while keyed, when the connected Lyra sends that reading

SWR under 1.5 is green, under 2.5 is amber, and above that is red. ALC at 2 dB is amber and at 6 dB is red.

What stays on Lyra

Enable PA, the tune-power mode, noise reduction, and the desk microphone path when no voice session is open. A file opened by double-click cannot prove the password or open a microphone. Use Open Lyra Remote.
