The Clean Energy to Communities (C2C) Program: In January 2023, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) launched a Clean Energy to Communities (C2C) Program, which enables communities across the country to transition to clean & green energy systems that are reliable, affordable, and represent local priorities. The C2C program will collaborate local leaders with DOE’s National Laboratories to help communities to transform their clean energy goals and ambitions into reality.

Canada

Clean Fuels Fund: The Canadian government invested .5 billion in the Clean Fuels Fund (CFF) to build new or expand existing clean fuel production facilities and promote green energy. Part of this is working towards a sustainable hydrogen strategy.

POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS

Stock and Flow Structures

Expand very-small time energy collection through environment-appropriate clean energy such as solar panels, windmills, watermills, ocean mills.
Expand large projects in the categories above and minimize environmental impacts where possible by building on previously disturbed lands and using designs that are friendly to the local environment.
You can transport the energy from solar farms in the middle of the desert. It would require investment in high voltage power grids to efficiently transfer the power across countries though. The issue with deserts is that the extreme heat decreases efficiency, (not significantly enough for it to not work) so it maybe more practical to localize solar farms. My point is that we have the space, the resources, and the know how to create a green society. Our systems and society are the problem.
