🌱 Getting Started

This guide takes you from an empty inventory to your first attuned fairy. The whole journey is: gather pixie dust → craft a scroll → connect it → attune.

Step 1 — Gather Pixie Dust

Pixie dust is the fae reagent behind everything. It doesn't come from mining — it comes from living nature. Harvest plants and there's a chance each drops a speck:

Break flowers by hand and wander through meadows — it adds up fast. A Wandering Trader will also sell pixie dust and even scrolls if you'd rather trade for them.

Step 2 — Craft a Blank Scroll

The base for every fairy scroll. Shapeless:

  • 2 × Paper
  • 1 × String
  • 3 × Pixie Dust

Step 3 — Build a Fairy Connection Table

This is where scrolls bond to fairies. Craft it like so:

Place it down and right-click to open its screen — it shows the scroll slot, connection progress, and your Environment ×.

Step 4 — Craft the Fairy Scroll You Want

Every fairy has its own scroll. They all share one shape — a Blank Scroll in the center, Pixie Dust in the corners, and two ingredients themed to that fairy:

These ingredients are deliberately mid-to-late game — fairies are a goal you work toward, not a starter item.

Step 5 — Connect the Scroll

Put the fairy scroll into the Connection Table. It slowly fills with attunement points on its own — a bare table takes a few in-game days.

Speed it up by building the right shrine around the table. It scans nearby blocks:

  • Any fairy likes general nature — flowers, leaves, moss, water.
  • Each fairy loves its own theme — lava & magma for Emberwisp, ice & snow for Rimebell, redstone & copper for Cogmite, and so on.

The richer the surroundings, the higher your Environment × (up to 6×) and the faster it finishes. Hover the environment readout in the screen for a hint on what to add.

Step 6 — Attune!

When the scroll reads Connected ✦, hold it and hold right-click. Your character raises the scroll as a swirl of the fairy's color tightens in and a chime rises — after about 2 seconds, you're blessed.

A few things to know:

  • The scroll is consumed when you attune (like using up a crystal).
  • The bond is permanent — you keep your fairy through death.
  • You can attune a different fairy later, but swapping has a settling period and a cooldown, so choose deliberately. See Swapping Fairies.
  • ⚔️ You can't attune while in combat.

What Now?

Your new fairy starts at Tier I. It grows in Magic just by being equipped — and grows three times faster when you're somewhere it thrives. Climb to Tier V to unlock its full kit.
