Terms of Use
Granthalay is provided as open-source software for managing and reading EPUB files in your browser. By using it, you agree to use the application lawfully and to respect the rights attached to the books and other files you import.
- Import only content you are permitted to possess and read.
- You retain responsibility for your EPUB files, annotations, backups, and browser data.
- Do not use Granthalay to infringe copyright, bypass DRM, distribute unauthorized copies, or break applicable law.
- Keep original copies of important books. Clearing browser data, changing browser profiles, or changing site origins can remove access to locally stored data.
Granthalay does not claim ownership of imported books, bookmarks, highlights, or reading activity. The current application processes this information locally and does not provide cloud recovery.
Granthalay is provided under the repository's MIT License, without warranty. EPUB rendering, offline availability, browser storage, and compatibility can vary by browser, operating system, publication, and deployment.
The project may change, suspend, or remove features as it develops. Future optional account or bookstore services may require additional terms before they are introduced; those future services are not covered as implemented features today.
See Data and Privacy for the data stored in your browser and the project's diagnostics rules. Report security concerns privately through the repository's security policy.
These terms may be updated as Granthalay evolves. Material changes should be documented in the repository or Wiki. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
