General updates (roundtable)

• Refactoring Project (Paul S., James)
  • Any remaining PRs waiting for review?
  • GUI questions - could use a demo to larger group (Do we want icons for perspectives, theory, data etc? How does all of this look in the midi area? What happens to perspectives when the close button is pressed? What will this look like? Can we generate some mocks for this?)
  • Plotting refactor
    • Plotting refactoring is being integrated with the sasview data refactor branch.
    • Detachable windows have a separate PR
  • When will the next refactoring hackathon be held? Maybe early December?
    • Note that contributor camp ends in early Nov - this could help us keep up momentum.
• Any SASBDB integration project updates? (Wojciech)

    • Expected camp projects: Envisioning two main working groups with other ad hoc items like Other release automation, pixi (Marie) and bug/maintenance fixes

      • Discussion about a joint magnetic/diff SAS, data refactor and plot refactoring

      • AI discussion (for contributions and for users)
      • Expanded roadmap discussion: what is missing for the community and who can contribute or find resources to fill the gaps

  • 6.2.0 documentation issue for installing on ubuntu. Installed from github with pyinstaller.
    • Possibly just need to be clearer with recommended installation methods.
