EDAA v0.3.2

Choose a tag to compare

@Siegfried-Origin Siegfried-Origin released this 13 Oct 22:39

Bug fix release.

Fixed

  • Galaxy map shaking when the game renders below 1x (supersampling < 1 or FSR). The anti-aliasing paused on the galaxy map, but the sub-pixel jitter kept running. The jitter now only runs when the anti-aliasing ran on the previous frame.

I would recommend no scaling and no anti aliasing in the game option for the best experience.

Your settings are kept.

EDAA v0.3.1

@Siegfried-Origin Siegfried-Origin released this 13 Oct 21:27

Bug fix release.

Fixed

  • The game could freeze (with Frontier's crash reporter showing up) when changing the resolution, Supersampling or FSR mode in game. EDAA no longer calls Direct3D while holding its own lock.

Notes

  • No other change. Your settings are kept.
  • To update, run the new installer over the previous version.

EDAA 0.3.0 - DLSS and XeSS

Choose a tag to compare

@Siegfried-Origin Siegfried-Origin released this 13 Oct 15:07

EDAA has now three anti-aliasing methods:

  • EDAA TAA (default) - works on any GPU.
  • NVIDIA DLAA - DLSS at native resolution, on NVIDIA RTX GPUs.
  • Intel XeSS (Native AA) - XeSS at native resolution, on all vendors.

Pick the method in the ReShade overlay (Home > EDAA > Method). Methods that cannot run on your system are greyed out TAA is used instead.

XeSS & DLSS are used in this version for neural AA, not frame scaling or frame generation.

New

  • NVIDIA DLAA (DLSS 310.9.1) and Intel XeSS Native AA.
  • The installer copies nvngx_dlss.dll and libxess.dll next to the add-on and third-party licenses in Program Files\EDAA. Uninstalling removes them and keeps ReShade.
  • EDAA is now released under the MIT license.

Fixes

  • The TAA no longer stops ("resolve point not reached") on foot.
  • The version number not showing on (0.2.0 showed "0").

EDAA 0.2.0 - First Public Release

Choose a tag to compare

@Siegfried-Origin Siegfried-Origin released this 12 Oct 18:57

Temporal anti-aliasing (TAA) for Elite Dangerous Odyssey, as a ReShade add-on. No game file is modified: uninstalling removes it completely.

Website: https://siegfried-origin.github.io/EDAA/

What it does

EDAA replaces the game's own anti-aliasing with a modern TAA: sub-pixel jittered rendering, motion vectors rebuilt from the game's camera and depth, and a temporal resolve inserted into the game's frame before the HUD, bloom and tonemapping.

  • Stable, sharp edges on geometry, thin details and specular highlights: railings, antennas, asteroid fields, station interiors.
  • No ghosting when turning, flying, driving the SRV or walking. Your cockpit and SRV interior are handled through the game's own vehicle mask.
  • Crisp cockpit HUD and holograms: the TAA runs before them, so they are never blurred.
  • No flicker on signs, lamps and decals: they are jittered together with the scene.
  • HDR-aware blending: bright edges stay stable against dark surroundings.
  • Maps and screenshots handled: TAA pauses on the system map, loading screens and during high-resolution screenshots (Alt+F10), then resumes cleanly.
  • On by default, Ctrl+Shift+T to toggle. Settings are saved between launches, with Reset to defaults and a collapsed Advanced section.

Install

  1. Download and run EDAA-Setup-0.2.0.exe.
  2. The installer finds the game (Steam, Epic or Frontier launcher) and checks ReShade. If needed, it downloads the official ReShade 6.8.0 with full add-on support from reshade.me (SHA-256 verified) and installs it for the game.
  3. In the game's graphics options, set anti-aliasing to Off.
  4. Start the game. Press Home to open ReShade, tab EDAA, to check the status or tune settings.

Manual install: copy EDAA.addon64 from the zip next to ReShade's dxgi.dll in Products\elite-dangerous-odyssey-64.

Uninstall: Windows Settings > Apps > EDAA. ReShade stays installed.

Requirements

  • Elite Dangerous Odyssey (64-bit client, DirectX 11).
  • ReShade 6.8.0 or newer with full add-on support (installed by the setup if missing).
  • Compatible with EDHM and other 3DMigoto mods (d3d11.dll).

Known limitations

  • The cockpit HUD and holograms are not anti-aliased, on purpose, to keep them sharp.
  • Particles and other transparent effects may ghost slightly in motion.
  • Very thin, very bright details can still shimmer a little.
  • On some setups, the EDAA tab may show "resolve point not reached" and TAA stops. If you see it, please open an issue with your ReShade.log and graphics settings.
  • ReShade's add-on build is officially intended for single-player games. Elite Dangerous does not block it, but use it at your own discretion.

Changes since 0.1.0

  • TAA pauses during high-resolution screenshots (Alt+F10).
  • Signs, lamps and light volumes no longer flicker (z-fighting fix).
  • Smoother high-contrast edges (HDR compression, default 30).
  • Reconstruction filter now off by default.
  • Version number shown in the EDAA tab.

Feedback, screenshots and issues are welcome. Fly safe, fly smooth. o7

EDAA v0.1.0 - first preview

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@Siegfried-Origin Siegfried-Origin released this 11 Oct 11:03

EDAA adds Temporal Anti-Aliasing (TAA) to Elite Dangerous Odyssey (DX11) as a ReShade add-on. No game file is modified: uninstalling removes it completely.

Features

  • TAA with sub-pixel camera jitter and camera motion vectors, enabled by default.
  • Sharp HUD: the resolve runs before the cockpit HUD and holograms, so they are neither blurred nor jittered.
  • Own vehicle handling: the cockpit and SRV interior use the game's own stencil mask, so they do not ghost when you turn.
  • Maps and menus: TAA pauses automatically on the system map and loading screens, and stays active in the main menu hangar.
  • Anti-flicker: decals, light volumes and glows are jittered with the scene (no z-fighting on station signs and lamps), and HDR compression keeps high-contrast edges stable.
  • Settings saved between launches, with a Reset to defaults button. Advanced settings are tucked away in a collapsed section.

Installation

  1. Download EDAA-Setup-0.1.0.exe and run it.
  2. The installer finds your game (Steam, Epic or Frontier launcher) and checks for ReShade 6.8+ with full add-on support. If needed, it downloads the official ReShade add-on setup from reshade.me (SHA-256 verified) and installs it for DXGI.
  3. Launch the game. Press Home to open ReShade and check the EDAA tab. Ctrl+Shift+T toggles TAA.

Manual install: copy EDAA.addon64 from the zip next to ReShade's dxgi.dll in Products\elite-dangerous-odyssey-64.

Uninstall

Windows Settings > Apps > EDAA. ReShade is left in place.

Requirements

  • Elite Dangerous Odyssey (DX11 renderer).
  • ReShade 6.8 or later, add-on support build. ReShade's add-on build is officially intended for single-player games: use it at your own risk.
  • Works alongside EDHM and other 3DMigoto mods (d3d11.dll).

Known limitations

  • Particles and transparent effects use camera motion only and may ghost slightly.
  • The HUD and holograms are not anti-aliased (by design, to keep them sharp).
  • The HDR compression default (50) was tuned in stations. Report any odd highlights in space or on planets.

This is a preview: feedback and captures are welcome in the Issues.
