.NET Framework 4.8 is pre-installed on Windows 10 version 1903 and later. No separate runtime installation is required.

Step 1 — Download

Download SS-CAM-v3.0.1.exe from the official releases page:

github.com/SuamiSihat/ss_cam/releases/latest

The file is a single self-contained executable (~5 MB). No installer, no runtime extraction.

Step 2 — Launch

Double-click SS-CAM-v3.0.1.exe. No administrator privileges are required.

Windows SmartScreen

If a blue SmartScreen dialog appears:

  1. Click More info
  2. Click Run anyway

This occurs because the executable is not yet widely distributed enough for Microsoft's reputation system. The application contains no malware and does not modify system settings.

Step 3 — First-Time Configuration

On first launch, complete the following in Settings:

User Profile

Field Description
Designer Name Your full name, shown in project folder names
Staff ID Your employee ID for Job ID prefixing
Department Your team or unit
Avatar Optional profile photo

Workspace Root

Set the root directory where all your project folders are stored. This is typically:

  • A mapped Synology NAS drive (e.g. Z:\Designers\YourName\)
  • A local directory (e.g. D:\Projects\)

Navigate to Settings → Workspace Configuration and browse to your workspace root.

You can also configure:

  • Synology NAS Path — for Team Board and NAS health monitoring
  • Waktu Solat Zone — select your Malaysian prayer times zone (41 zones)
  • Theme — choose from SS Default, Falconia, Metamorphosis, Catppuccin, Rosé Pine, or Nord

The app will scan this directory on every launch to calculate Dashboard metrics and auto-populate Job IDs.

Updating SS-CAM

When a newer version is available, a yellow notification banner appears at the top of the application. Click the banner to open the releases page and download the latest build.

To update manually, replace the old .exe with the new one. No data migration is required — settings are stored in %LOCALAPPDATA%\SuamiSihat\SS-CAM\ and are forward-compatible across versions.

Uninstalling

  1. Delete SS-CAM-vX.Y.Z.exe
  2. Optionally remove settings and data:
    %LOCALAPPDATA%\SuamiSihat\SS-CAM\

Note: Mind Drop notes encrypted with DPAPI are stored in this directory. Deleting it permanently removes them.
