No, if you download from official releases or build the source yourself.
Account switching swaps local login state and asks for no password at all. One optional feature, Steam Guard, does take your Steam password, because signing in to Steam needs one. That password is encrypted with a key fetched from Steam, sent to Steam, and never written to disk. What gets stored is the session Steam issues in return, encrypted under a separate Steam Guard password you set.
Token files copied to LoginCache stay on your machine unless you share them or malware reads them. See the Privacy Policy.
No. WebView2 is a shared runtime used to render the app UI. It is separate from the full Edge browser.
Yes.
- Extract the portable
.zipor.7zto the USB drive. - Run
TcNo-Acc-Switcher.exe. - Optional: set Settings -> System -> User data location to a folder on the USB drive.
Notes:
- Platform login tokens are usually tied to the Windows machine. Another PC may ask for passwords again.
- Keep the drive letter stable if settings contain absolute paths.
- WebView2 must be installed on each Windows PC.
- If
{exe folder}\TcNo Account Switcher\exists, the app uses it as portable user data.
WebView2 is missing or broken.
- Install WebView2 Evergreen.
- If WebView2 is already installed, repair Microsoft Edge/WebView2 from Windows Settings.
CEF is no longer used.
Open the user data folder. Default: %AppData%\TcNo Account Switcher.

Delete only the data you want reset. The install folder is separate.
- Uninstall from Windows Settings if you used the installer.
- Delete the install folder. Default:
C:\Program Files\TcNo Account Switcher. - Delete the user data folder. Default:
%AppData%\TcNo Account Switcher. - Install the latest build from Releases.
The current app does not need _FIRST_RUN.exe or .NET.
Use Add New in the switcher. Do not use the launcher's sign-out button.
Steam and Battle.net can detect saved accounts, but each account still needs the launcher's remember-password option enabled.
For most other platforms:
- Click Add New.
- Sign in and choose the platform's stay-signed-in option.
- Quit the platform cleanly.
- Click Save Current.
VPNs, HWID spoofers, disk cleaners, and privacy tools can invalidate remembered logins.
- Confirm the platform closes during swap.
- Close it manually and swap again.
- Change Platform -> Settings -> close method between Combined, Close, and TaskKill.
- Verify the launcher exe path in settings.
- Search Common errors for the toast text.
- Check
{UserData}/Platforms.json; launcher updates can move files.
Open {UserData}/LoginCache/{Platform}/.
- Delete account folders for templated platforms.
- Edit
ids.jsonororder.jsononly if you need exact list cleanup. - For Steam, use Forget or edit
loginusers.vdf.
This removes switcher entries. It does not delete the real service account.
- In Steam -> Settings, confirm the Steam folder.
- Check
{Steam}\config\loginusers.vdffor broken VDF syntax. - Restore
loginusers.vdf_lastfrom the same folder if it exists. - Last resort: delete
loginusers.vdfand add each account again through Add New.
Valid shape:
"users"
{
"76561197960287930"
{
"AccountName" "login_username"
"PersonaName" "DisplayName"
"RememberPassword" "1"
"mostrecent" "1"
}
}
There is no reset. The app holds no copy of the key.
If you enrolled a backup key, keyfile or security key, unlock with that and set a new password under Steam -> Settings -> Steam Guard -> Manage. If you have a backup folder made while you still knew the password, restore it. Otherwise the records in that vault stay encrypted.
Your Steam accounts are separate from the vault. Steam's own recovery code, shown once during setup, is what removes an authenticator; account recovery beyond that is Steam Support's process. See Steam Guard.
Check the general password advice, then check Steam:
- Disable Don't save account credentials in Steam account settings.
- Avoid tools that delete Steam login files.
- Use Advanced Cleaning only when you intend to sign in again.
