Platform Discord
Discord, Discord Canary, and Discord PTB are separate entries in Platforms.json. They use the same templated switch flow with different AppData folders.
| Variant | Folder |
|---|---|
| Discord | %AppData%\discord |
| Discord Canary | %AppData%\discordcanary |
| Discord PTB | %AppData%\discordptb |
Important data includes:
Local Storage\leveldb\Session Storageblob_storageNetwork- cache folders
settings.json
The full list is in {UserData}/Platforms.json.
UniqueIdMethod: LEVELDB reads the active user id from LevelDB. Extras.variables also resolve username and avatar URL from LevelDB. The current app does not need manual console JavaScript for this.
Discord saves some session data only after a normal quit.
- Sign in through Discord.
- Quit Discord from the tray. Do not kill it in Task Manager.
- In the switcher, click Save Current and name the account.
- For another account, use Add New, sign in, quit Discord normally, then Save Current.
Do not use Discord's logout button. It invalidates tokens.
Double-click an account or click Login. The app closes Discord, swaps AppData files, and launches the matching Discord variant through Update.exe --processStart.
If a swap opens the wrong account, re-save after a clean Discord quit.
Right-click an account and choose Forget.
This removes the cached switcher entry. It does not affect the Discord account.
| Issue | Fix |
|---|---|
| Wrong avatar after switch | Quit Discord cleanly and save again |
| Switch does nothing | Try another close method in platform Settings |
| Wrong Discord install | Use the Stable, PTB, or Canary platform entry that matches the account |
