Using Emotes

YamiKhal edited this page Oct 17, 2026 · 1 revision

How to actually play emotes, everything from the wheel to commands.

The Emote Wheel

Press B to open it. Click a slot to play that emote, or press 1 to 8.

Slots - every slot shows a 3D preview with your own skin, it starts moving when you hover it
Pages - 10 pages of slots, flip through them with the arrows (or scroll)
Stop Emote - stops what you're playing
All Emotes - every emote you have, sorted in packs
Edit Wheel - put emotes in whatever slot you want
Packs... - hide or show whole emote packs
Settings... - everything in Settings

If you like holding the key and letting go over an emote more, turn on Hold to Open Wheel in the settings. A quick tap still keeps it open.

Putting emotes on the wheel

  1. Click Edit Wheel.
  2. Pick an emote on the left.
  3. Click the slot you want it in. Right-click a slot to clear it.

All Emotes

Every emote you have, one section per pack (A-Z). Hover a pack header to see who made it.

  • Click an emote to preview it, click it again to play it.
  • Recently Used at the top keeps your last 10 emotes. It's folded at first, click it to open.
  • The search box searches names.

Stopping an emote

You don't need to do anything special. Walking, jumping or attacking stops it, so an emote never gets in your way. Stop Emote in the wheel works too, and so does pressing the same hotkey again.

Keys

All of them are in Options > Controls > Key Binds > PlayerEmotes.

Key Default What it does
Open Emote Wheel B opens the wheel
Play Wheel Slot 1-4 unassigned plays slot 1-4 of the first page, press again to stop
Accept Partner Emote unassigned joins a partner emote someone asked you to
Reload Emote Files unassigned reloads emote files, for making emotes

Commands

/emote <emote> play an emote
/emotesync <player> join the emote a player near you is playing
/emoteaccept accept a partner emote request

/emote tab completes. You can write the full id (playeremotes:wave) or just wave. All the ids are in the Emote List.

Camera

If you start an emote in first person, the camera goes to third person so you can actually see yourself, and back once you're done. Don't like it? Turn off Third Person While Emoting in the Settings.

Controllers

With Controlify the cursor snaps to the wheel's slots and buttons. You can bind the mod's keys to controller buttons in Controlify's settings.

Without a mouse, the wheel also works with Tab, the arrow keys and Enter.
