Themes

A theme re-skins the program guide, the on-screen banners and the setup screen. Each one is a bundled plugin; pick one in Setup > GUIDE & THEME. Themes marked + border also draw a decorative frame around the picture.

Theme Look
80s Neon Cyberpunk (Synthwave Pink/Cyan) electric magenta, neon cyan, hot violet and gold synthwave palette. (+ border)
80s Radical VHS (Hot Coral & Purple) hot coral, electric yellow and deep violet arcade-cassette palette. (+ border)
90s Cyber Terminal (Matrix Phosphor Green) phosphor green, laser lime and dark obsidian cyber-terminal palette. (+ border)
Addressable Converter '89 late-1980s addressable converter with red LED digits, amber prompts, and a compact black-plastic guide.
Analog Barker (Early 90s Amber) early-90s analog character-generator look — black background, amber phosphor accent, hard-cut flat panels. (+ border)
Aqua Grid '06 mid-2000s cable UI with cyan chrome, pale channel rails, dense ruled listings, and lime selection.
Cable Box OSD (Analog Teletext) a literal early-90s analog cable box on-screen menu — blocky type, saturated primaries, chunky beveled 3D buttons instead of flat modern ones.
Cloud Guide '16 modern cloud-era cable UI with dark content cards, blue interaction, spacious focus targets, and restrained motion.
Cobalt Grid '03 early-2000s deep navy guide with amber-yellow selection, aqua channel rails, and remote-color-button hints.
Dark Grid '12 compact black-and-blue cable guide with thin rules, high information density, cyan focus, and restrained chrome.
Digital Satellite (2001 Ice Blue) 2001 digital satellite receiver look — ice blue & white, crisp and geometric, a signal-lock-searching acquire animation instead of static, digital chirp SFX, a faint 9.2kHz carrier hum. (+ border)
Dual-Tuner DVR '05 early DVR interface with midnight blue panels, silver rails, yellow focus, and live guide preview.
Frutiger Aero (Glossy 2000s Optimism) the glossy, optimistic mid-2000s 'tech is wonderful' look — translucent glass surfaces, soft sky-blue/aqua gradients, rounded corners, metallic highlights.
Hotel Headend '92 early-1990s hospitality cable guide with institutional teal, warm ivory, and oversized remote focus.
Late-Night UHF (1988 Magenta & Cyan) 1988 late-night public-access UHF — hot magenta & cyan, a full teletext-style guide re-skin, gritty FM-warble tuning noise, a curved/warped picture even before touching the curvature slider. (+ border)
Master Control (Amber Broadcast Console) a real broadcast engineering rack — amber phosphor on graphite, hairline dividers, flat panels, everything labeled like equipment.
Midnight Luxury (OLED Indigo & Glass) deepest obsidian, electric indigo and rose glassmorphism palette. (+ border)
Neo-Brutalist (Raw Console) the most direct answer to a generic-AI-app look — zero border radius, thick black borders, flat acid-yellow/hot-pink blocks, no gradients, raw hand-built type.
Network Prime Time (1996 Cream & Brick) 1996 glossy network broadcast look — cream & brick-red, larger corner radii box-wide, quiet low-opacity tuning blip instead of full static, clean musical chime SFX. (+ border)
Ops Dashboard (Broadcast Automation) modern, but grounded in real broadcast-automation software (Wide Orbit, Ross) instead of generic app defaults — condensed headline type, on-air red reserved for live/critical state, cool blue for…
Outrun Synthwave (Sincere 80s Neon) sincere 80s retro-futurism (not the ironic vaporwave collage) — magenta, cyan and violet neon glow on near-black, played straight.
Scrolling Guide '94 early interactive scrolling guide with royal blue and amber-yellow, flat panels, sharp corners, and analog signal texture.
Slate Grid '10 late-2000s cable guide with metallic slate panels, electric-blue cells, yellow focus, and compact menu typography.
Widescreen Grid '13 early HD cable guide with a left live preview, rich blue program grid, yellow focus bar, and remote-color footer cues.
Wood-Grain Console (1978 Forest & Brass) pre-cable 1978 wood-console TV — forest green & brass palette, mechanical relay sounds, rolling static, no rating bug (predates TV parental guidelines). (+ border)

Eras

An era applies a whole period look at once (theme, CRT settings and the matching on-screen style) and remembers what it replaced, so you can clear it and get your own settings back exactly. The built-in eras are:

  • 1970s — Wood console
  • 1980s — VHS and UHF
  • 1994 — Analog cable
  • 2000s — Digital satellite
  • 2016 — Flat and digital

Pick an era in setup, or from the TV menu on a TV.

Comfort

Themes change colors and layout, not the flicker. If flicker or static is a problem, see Comfort and Photosensitivity.
