Getting Help

If you don't understand any aspect of what's discussed on this WiKi - please ask. We know it's a lot of information. Do not be shy - there are no silly questions - we are all here to learn.

The best place to ask is the ESCape32 Discord server - slot cars channel. Friend and message me at @ad0.

I am very slow answering email - be patient.

FaceBook - do not make me angry :-)

Post an issue on git.

If you are having issue with the board or firmware - WE WANT TO KNOW ABOUT IT.

Reporting

Perhaps the worst place to report this is FaceBook - because we try not to waste our lives on social media.

Post something on the ESCape32 Discord server - slot-cars channel or open an issue on git.

Before you post anything make sure you are running the latest firmware.

Then tell us:

  1. The motor, make, model, Kv, and if you know it: wire size, number of turns, number of poles (magnets)
  2. The firmware settings from the first tab of the WiFi Link page.

If you are sophisticated and have the equipment it's very helpful to have oscilloscope traces from the motor phases.

Please try to describe the issue as clearly as possible. If you have a video - that's useful. The usual issues seem to be "desync's" or "cogging" - this is either when the motor will not start and seems to stutter, or stops and desyncs when it's either accelerating or slowing. The other complaints are often related to braking.
