Presenting and Showing Videos
The display wall is part of an extended desktop seen by the VizLab computer. That means that any window you open on the VizLab computer can be dragged onto the display wall and viewed there.
For convenience there are two hotkey combinations
-
Win+F11- which will maximize the active window to fill the entire display wall; -
Win+F10- which will maximize the active window to fill the center rows of the display wall.
To show PowerPoint presentations the recommended steps are:
- Open your presentation in PowerPoint;
- Select "Slide Show", and then click on "Set Up Slide Show";
- Under "Show type" choose "Browsed by an individual (window)", then click "OK";
- Start the presentation by clicking the "From Beginning" button;
- Press
Win+F11to maximize your presentation onto the display wall. - Sometimes PowerPoint doesn't correctly fill the entire wall, in this case:
- Press
Escto exit the presentation - this should leave PowerPoint filling the entire display wall; - Start the presentation again.
- Press
Note that PowerPoint may not use all of the available displays depending on the aspect ratio of your presentation.
The Win+F11 hotkey combination which maximizes the current window to fill the full display is provided via the "Dual Monitor Tools" (
) software. Under the Swap Screen -> User Defined Areas section the first user defined area has been configured to correspond to the full display wall. It is named "VizWall", starts at position 0x2160 (the top edge of the wall), and has size 9600x7560 which spans the entire wall.
Other user defined areas could be configured to correspond to other regions of the wall (e.g. the middle few rows).
