Display Wall

The Display Panel forms a large multi-block screen that plots how item and fluid storage levels in your ME network change over time. Screens are built from panels plus decorative Display Frames, and take no channel from the network.

Building a Screen

  1. Place display panels as a solid rectangle, 216 wide by 29 tall, with all panels facing the same direction — the side you look at.
  2. The screen forms automatically. The bottom-left panel (the geometric minimum corner) becomes the controller, or master.
  3. Surround the rectangle with dark or light Display Frames — decorative only. If the light frames outnumber the dark ones, the screen switches to the light theme; otherwise it uses the dark theme.
  4. Attach the screen to your ME network with a cable on any side. It uses no channel and draws width × height × powerPerBlock AE/t (default 2.0).

Breaking any panel disbands the screen; it re-forms automatically once the panel is repaired.

Configuring

Right-click the screen to open the configuration GUI:

  • Track up to 8 entries. Drop an item into a fake slot, or click a fake slot while holding a fluid container to track a fluid.
  • Click the color swatch to cycle an entry's line color; click the eye to hide or show it.
  • Choose the chart type, the time range and the Y-axis mode (see below).

Sneak + right-click the screen to cycle chart types without opening the GUI.

Chart types

The chart type applies to the whole screen — all tracked entries are drawn in the same style at a time.

Type Shows
Line One colored line per tracked entry
Area The line with a translucent fill below it
Delta A bar chart of the change per interval (±), showing net inflow and outflow at a glance
Rate A large per-minute rate readout (±x/min) with a mini trend line
Stacked All enabled entries stacked into one composition band

Time range and Y axis

  • Time range: 5m / 30m / 2h / 24h.
  • Y-axis mode: Auto (smoothly rescales to the data), Fixed, or Log.
  • The Y axis uses 1/2/5 steps with k/M abbreviations.

Data and Sampling

  • Samples are taken once per second and down-sampled into three tiers:
    • 1s resolution for 5 minutes (300 points),
    • 10s resolution for about 55 minutes (330 points),
    • 60s resolution for 24 hours (1440 points).
  • History is persisted in NBT, so it survives restarts and chunk unloads.
  • While the network is offline or the chunk is unloaded, gaps are recorded as invalid samples and rendered as broken lines.
  • Clients receive one incremental update packet per second while the screen is running.

Configuration

Key Default Meaning
DisplayWall.powerPerBlock 2.0 Idle power per panel block (AE/t); total = width × height × this value
DisplayWall.renderDistance 128 Client-side maximum render distance of the screen TESR (blocks)
