AE2Enhanced ships its own in-game Markdown guide book — it is not a Patchouli book. The guide contains 28 pages, is available in English and Simplified Chinese, and can be recolored with four themes.
- Hover an item that has a guide page. A "hold G to show guide" line appears in the item's tooltip together with a progress bar. Hold G for 10 ticks (0.5 s) and the corresponding page opens. Releasing G drains the bar at 2 ticks per tick.
- The guide opens on the index page when no item is hovered.
The whole guide system is client-side and can be turned off entirely with Guide.enabled = false — that disables page loading, the tooltip hint and the hotkey.
- Browse topics in the navigation tree on the left; categories expand and collapse.
- Click blue cross-references to jump between pages.
- Use the theme button in the top bar to cycle color themes; the choice is written back to
Guide.theme. - Pages reload automatically on a resource reload (F3+T) or a language switch.
Content is loaded from assets/ae2enhanced/guides/ae2enhanced/guide/. Translated pages live under _zh_cn/ with the same names and paths, and replace the base page when the client language is not en_us.
