FAQ
Q: Is AE2Enhanced compatible with standard AE2? Untested and most likely incompatible. AE2Enhanced requires AE2-UEL v0.56.7.
Q: What are the hard dependencies? Minecraft 1.12.2, Forge 14.23.5.2768+, AE2-UEL v0.56.7 and MixinBooter 10.6+. AE2Enhanced will not load without the last two.
Q: Can I use it on a server? Yes. It is required on both the client and the server.
Q: How do I get fluid / gas support in terminals? Install AE2FluidCraft-Rework-Unofficial (ae2fcru, https://github.com/Circulate233/AE2FluidCraft-Rework-Unofficial). AE2Enhanced's own fake-item based fluid and gas display is deprecated; only essentia display support is retained.
Q: Where is the documentation for the Omni Terminal? The Omni Terminal is undergoing a complete rewrite, so its details are intentionally not documented here, and related bugs are no longer being fixed. Refer to the in-game AE2Enhanced Guide (hold G while hovering the item).
Q: Do you plan to support ae2s? It is on the plan list. If ae2s gets an official release, adaptation will be expedited.
Q: Problems when used together with Crazy AE? The other mod uses @Overwrite to forcibly modify certain key parts; there is nothing we can do on our side.
Q: AI analysis says the error comes from ae2e? Because AE2Enhanced makes extremely deep modifications to AE2-UEL, ae2e appears in the mixin stack traces of many crash reports. Please confirm the issue is actually caused by ae2e before reporting it.
Q: The mod's CurseForge page updates slowly, and version numbers often jump significantly? This is normal. Testing is done in stages: the first stage is internal only, the second is distributed in the QQ group, and the official release is published on CurseForge only after everything checks out. The largest internal iteration went through more than 20 minor versions.
Q: Too few CPU parallels, pushing feels slow? Since 1.7.8.0, batch pushing has been added. When blocking mode is off, all materials are pushed at once according to the CPU's parallel count. Using this mod's multiblock CPU removes the push limit, which also means you no longer need to manually duplicate patterns.
Q: Why can't parallel crafting be applied correctly in some cases? Due to the complexity of different modpacks, please open an issue and I will prioritize the fix.
Q: Abnormal behavior when crafting near Long.MAX_VALUE? Limited by AE2-UEL's architecture.
Q: Will crafting beyond Long.MAX_VALUE be considered? AE2-UEL on 1.12.2 is too primitive, which brings costs that are hard to justify.
Q: Recipes with tools cannot recognize tools as catalysts? This is not possible in AE2-UEL itself. Optimization will be considered later.
Q: How do I auto-upload patterns? Install an Auto-Upload Module in the hub.
Q: Can I connect across dimensions?
Yes, if crossDimension is true in the config (default).
Q: Receiver card not working? Make sure:
- The card is bound (insert it into the transmitter GUI first).
- The transmitter's chunk is loaded.
Q: Not working? Check:
- The target container's I/O sides are configured correctly.
- The relevant storage support addon mod is installed.
- If neither works, open an issue.
Q: Is there a capacity limit? Unreachable in practice.
Q: I need support for other storage types. First, that type needs an existing AE storage addon (for example gas - MEKEng). Then open an issue and I will consider adapting it.
Q: Where are the files?
<world>/ae2enhanced/storage/. Each multiblock corresponds to one storage file.
Q: Is there an input limit when using CraftTweaker?
Recommended input item types <= 5. Input quantity is not limited. You can even create a recipe combining one million cobblestones (if your computer can handle that many dropped items).
Q: The ritual-created mini black hole is not crafting? The event horizon lasts 300 seconds by default, and the mini black hole needs to be right-clicked to start crafting (it will complete all feasible recipes at once).
Q: The game lags, or something behaves oddly - where do I start?
AE2Enhanced ships with a command-driven diagnostics toolkit. Start with /ae2e perf (TPS and node timing) and /ae2e diag check (health checks for storage, channels, recipes, grids and personal dimensions). See Diagnostics & Performance for the full toolkit.
