Personal Dimension
Every player can own a private, flat, single-biome dimension. The Personal Dimension Core is the key to it. Access is by invitation — there is no per-player permission system to configure.
- Right-click air — open the dimension rules GUI.
- Right-click a block — teleport. Outside your dimension this records your return point and sends you in (creating the dimension on first use); inside, it sends you back to that return point.
- Shift + right-click a block (inside your dimension) — bind the entry point you arrive at.
You cannot set your spawn inside a personal dimension; dying returns you to the overworld.
Dimensions are created lazily, on first teleport, one per player. The dimension type is allocated starting at ID 5290, skipping IDs that are already in use so common mods do not collide.
/ae2e pd delete unregisters the dimension, kicks anyone standing in it and deletes its save folder, so the next entry creates a clean one.
Each dimension keeps its own rule set, edited in the GUI:
| Rule | Effect | Default |
|---|---|---|
disableMobSpawning |
Block natural mob spawning | off |
lockWeather |
Keep weather clear — blocks rain, thunder, snow/ice and lightning | off |
lockTime |
Freeze world time at timeValue
|
off |
daylightCycle |
Let the day/night cycle run | on |
timeValue |
Time to freeze at, normalized to 0–24000 | 6000 |
flightEnabled |
Allow flight inside the dimension (creative players always may) | off |
movementSpeed |
Walk/fly speed, clamped to 0.05–2.0 | 0.1 |
noFlightInertia |
Stop drifting when there is no movement input while flying | off |
The floor generates at floorY with two layers of bedrock below it. The pattern comes from a JSON preset — personalDimension.presetPath, default config/ae2enhanced/personal_dimension_floor.json, copied out of the mod on first start. The built-in preset tiles a 96x96 pattern of Caution Blocks and concrete; unknown blocks fall back to bedrock.
personalDimension.entryY (default 65) is the Y level arriving players are placed at.
-
/ae2e pd invite <player>adds a player to your dimension's whitelist. -
/ae2e pd kick <player>removes them; if they are standing inside, they are sent back out. - Invited players get full enter / build / interact access — there are no finer permission levels.
- The owner and level-2 operators bypass the whitelist.
All /ae2e pd subcommands are usable without OP; only deleting someone else's dimension requires OP.
