Preparation

In advance of the hackathon, please use this document to give us an idea of your level of experience and to suggest any projects you'd like to hack on. This will help us tailor the event to best suit your needs.

Location

The event will take place at SURF's premises in Utrecht:

Offices Hoog Overborch (Hoog Catharijne)
Moreelsepark 48
3511 EP Utrecht

Please note that finding SURF's entrance can be challenging — if you just punch the address into Google Maps or equivalent, you probably won't make it. Instead, refer to this page and look for the section “Route description Utrecht”. If you get lost, feel free to get in touch and ask for help; we'll do our best to find you.

When you arrive at SURF, please check in at reception and they'll tell you where to find us.

Connectivity

Wifi is available througout SURF using the Eduroam system. If you don't have access to Eduroam, please ask at reception and they can create a guest account for you.

Agenda

We'll have two rooms available at SURF. One will be available throughout the day for hacking, with members of the Astropy team on hand to provide advice and help out. In the other, we'll run a series of tutorial sessions, as described below (although the details may be subject to change). You're welcome to move between rooms, attending whichever tutorials are of interest to you, then moving back to the hack space to try out what you've learned.
