Getting Started
Applies to Arcane Towers 0.0.0-beta.6 for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge).
| Minecraft | 1.21.1 |
| NeoForge | 21.1.249 or newer |
| Java | 21 |
Arcane Towers needs all three of these, on both the client and the server. If any is missing, the game refuses to start.
| Dependency | Why |
|---|---|
| Expedition Core | The sealing that keeps the towers intact, plus the two world-generation types the towers are built on. |
| Majestic Bestiary | Every creature in the towers, including the four guardians. |
| GeckoLib 4.7.6 | Required by Majestic Bestiary's models. |
None of them are bundled: install each as a separate mod. Arcane Towers does not require Majestic.
- Install NeoForge 21.1.249 for Minecraft 1.21.1.
- Put the Arcane Towers JAR in your
modsfolder, together with Expedition Core, Majestic Bestiary and GeckoLib. - Create a new world, or load an existing one, and let world generation run. Towers do not generate in worlds that already had their structures placed.
There is no configuration and nothing to enable in a world file.
Each tower generates in the Overworld, and only where the biome family it belongs to covers a wide area — the mod samples the biome across a 64-block radius and refuses to place the tower unless every sampled point matches. That is why towers feel rare and deliberate rather than scattered.
Towers also never generate close to other structures. The mod keeps them at least 8 chunks away from any other surface structure, which includes villages, temples and anything from other mods. In practice you will not find a tower next to a village.
Because generation only happens when a chunk is first created, the towers in an existing world depend on when that world was made. A world created before installing the mod will not retroactively grow towers in already-generated chunks.
Towers are tall and visible from a distance: the stone and sandstone towers rise well above the terrain, and the umbral tower is marked by sculk. If you have been playing a while in a fresh world and have not seen one, keep exploring — spacing and the biome requirement mean they are genuinely uncommon.
Arcane Towers is part of the Majestic mod ecosystem by Stalking Dragons, released under All Rights Reserved. Built on Expedition Core, Majestic Bestiary and GeckoLib, which keep their own licences. Not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.
