The Four Towers
Applies to Arcane Towers 0.0.0-beta.6 for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge).
There are four towers, one for each biome family. A tower only generates in its own biomes, so the landscape you are standing in decides which one you will find.
| Tower | Biomes | Guardian |
|---|---|---|
| Tower of Arcane Stone | Plains, sunflower plains, meadows, forests | Guardian of the Arcane Stone, a Tauren |
| Frost Tower | Snowy plains, snowy taiga, groves, snowy slopes, ice spikes | Guardian of the Frost, a Goliath |
| Sandstone Tower | Deserts, badlands, savannas | Guardian of the Sands, a Centaur |
| Umbral Tower | Dark forests, swamps, mangrove swamps | Guardian of the Umbra, a Goliath |
Each tower is built from its own materials, and each is garrisoned differently.
- Tower of Arcane Stone — andesite, deepslate, stone bricks, tuff bricks and weathered copper. Its floors hold goblins, elves and gnomes.
- Frost Tower — packed ice, blue ice, calcite and snow, lit with sea lanterns and soul lanterns. Its floors hold dire wolves and satyrs, and a soul campfire burns on one of the levels. It is the only tower with no stairs in its template, so treat the climb with care.
- Sandstone Tower — sandstone, chiseled sandstone and glazed terracotta, with gold and copper blocks worked into it. Its floors hold goblins and arcane mages.
- Umbral Tower — deepslate bricks, polished basalt and black stained glass, overgrown with vines and cobwebs, and heavy with sculk: sculk sensors, sculk and sculk veins throughout. Its floors hold the undead, arcane mages and satyrs. It is the tallest-looking and the most hostile of the four.
Each tower keeps one guardian in its deepest hall, beside the vault chest. The guardian appears the first time a player enters that hall, and only once: the mod remembers which halls it has already populated, so a second player entering the same hall finds it already awake.
Guardians are tougher than their usual form — they get +50% maximum health on top of whatever Majestic Bestiary gives them. They also persist, so a guardian cannot be skipped by reloading the world or logging out.
If the deepest hall of a tower failed to generate, the tower unseals itself the first time a player enters it rather than trapping them, so an incomplete tower is never a dead end.
