Remote receivers

Local and remote sources use the same Receiver layout, Compact mode, panel hide/restore controls and output dock. Remote tuning and Favorites are in Channel settings; volume is in Audio, with filter and stream details available on demand. Explorer requires a local I/Q source. The Receiver tab keeps the selected source; use Signal source to switch back to local reception. Leaving Receiver for Settings/Help/About/Diagnostics disconnects the remote stream but keeps its drafts. Returning requires Connect and Listen again.

Choose Signal source → Remote web receiver · OpenWebRX / KiwiSDR after stopping local reception and finishing/discarding any retained capture. Choose the receiver type, enter its HTTPS website, Connect, then Listen. Tune applies channel/mode/filter changes; Stop listening, changing receiver type and navigation away disconnect. The last successfully connected website is remembered separately for each type; reload never reconnects automatically. Find a receiver opens Receiverbook, and Open receiver website opens the operator's original interface.

Remote favorites beside remote tuning opens a separate overlay for saved receiver addresses and channel presets (100 entries / 256 KiB maximum). Search, edit and export/import a JSON backup there. Load disconnects the current remote stream and stages the address; Connect, Apply saved channel and Listen stay deliberate. Saved band/mode/filter/zoom compatibility is checked against the connected receiver before application. Storage failures are visible; export a backup before closing a tab if persistence failed. Concurrent edits are detected rather than overwriting another tab's changes.

Share preset creates a separate receiver/tuning link without local names, notes, collection IDs or credentials. Recipients preview it before loading; active local reception, captures/transfers and cleanup block application. No connection, audio or automatic Favorite save occurs. HTTP-only addresses cannot be applied from HTTPS BrowserSDR. Remote preset contract and checks.

Both native adapters receive server-processed mono audio and relative-power spectrum/waterfall. Remote streams do not enable raw I/Q recording, local digital decoders, Explorer scanning, local Favorites or settings-sharing. HTTPS BrowserSDR requires an HTTPS/WSS receiver; HTTP receivers work only from an HTTP local preview or their own website. No local capture or Atlas credential is forwarded to a receiver.

OpenWebRX supports AM/NFM/WFM/USB/LSB/CW, advertised profiles and plain/ADPCM streams. Band selection can affect a shared physical receiver. KiwiSDR supports AM/USB/LSB/CW/NFM and zoomed waterfall, using negotiated uncompressed mono audio and 1024-bin server FFT. KiwiSDR Connect reserves a receiver channel and receives server data; browser audio stays off until Listen. Tuning affects that client channel. Public-service, fixture and owner-listening evidence establish different things; see Known limitations. Protected receivers and WebSDR native support remain separate.
