Week 12 Standup Three

We each have to give a brief outline of what we said in this Standup.

Awais:

User Testing:
Conducted extensive user testing through two focus groups. Looked at refining user interface interactions, content presented, defining parameters for user understanding of the context of the table and it's purpose.

Build:
Built on physical aspects of the table, added wood stain to panels to add coffee table-esque aesthetic appeal, made adjustments to fit television cavity, glued together support beams to cater to plank height.

User Interface:
Redesigned User Interface Elements including Twitter & News placeholder cards, Background for play area screen, Video for Call-to-Action for Opening/Resting screen and its click-through to scene change function. Developed promotional flyer for table with Shiva.

Jonathan:

The new new's API we found is not feasible to use within our time constraints, switching back to NewsAPI.org, attaching all keywords to location.

Multi-touch is fully working, finalising each screen. Earthview needs to be finished (countries need placing and attaching to newmainInterface's mastercontroller), newmainInterface is done and a screensaver that Awais is making needs to have it's own scene.

Shiva:

User Testing: Conducted user testing sessions with two focus groups with the objective to understand aspects such as communication of the context, refining existing interactions, and the feedback to the user.

Build: Built the table to cut, affix members of the table along with Awais

Crystallise MVP and define actions:_ Crystallised the MVP in terms of user interface components, functional capabilities and aesthetics to re-prioritise and assign actions to each of the team members for back-end and front-end.

Marketing Assets: Created the flyers for Daily planet for class and ABC's presentation.

Crystallise context and user interface:_ The context was revisited at and we conceptualised the prompt and the content we wanted to deliver to the target audience. Reiterated User interface and refined interactions to deliver better meaning to the content.

Trevor: Exploring the both problem spaces we wanted to have people testing the table not only just interact with the table but also with each other. The interactivity was apparent on the table but not always for the right reasons. Some found the table as a game space as opposed a place of finding and sharing news. Some of the build features of the table piece lead to this - cards that collide and expand to take up the whole space.

The table has been constructed and ready for the screen to fit in.
