Getting Started

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11 x64
  • A local Codex installation
  • Enough free storage for your Codex data and project folders
  • A USB drive or another suitable backup location

No installation, Python, or administrator rights are normally required.

Download

  1. Open the Codex Lifeboat releases page.
  2. Open release 3.4.2.
  3. Download Codex-Lifeboat-Windows-x64-Portable.zip.
  4. Extract the complete ZIP.
  5. Start Codex-Lifeboat.exe.

Do not run the application directly from GitHub's ZIP preview or from inside the compressed archive.

You can compare the downloaded files with the included SHA256.txt.
