Codex Lifeboat is a portable Windows application for backing up, verifying, restoring, and moving a local Codex workspace between computers.

Current status: Codex Lifeboat 3.4.2 is a public testing release. Keep an independent copy of irreplaceable data while testing.

Extract the ZIP completely and start Codex-Lifeboat.exe.

Do not download GitHub's automatically generated Source code archives unless you want to develop the application.

Codex Lifeboat backups are not encrypted. A backup can contain source code, .env files, API keys, and other confidential project data.

Keep your USB drive and backup folders physically secure.
