Everyplay's Facecam feature lets the user record themselves playing the game, using the device's front-facing camera. The Facecam is available to the user via two separate ways: either adding post-recording commentary using the Everyplay editor, or Live Facecam, which records the user playing the game as it happens.

Implementing Facecam in your game using Everyplay is highly recommended, as your users will love it!

Note Currently, the Facecam feature is available on Everyplay iOS only

Designing for the Facecam

Generally, the Live Facecam - which records the user while the gameplay actually happens - should always be an opt-in feature. Turning on recording of the user's face, without informing them of this beforehand may be an unwanted experience for some. However, we do not recommend burying this in the settings, rather give the user the opportunity to learn about the feature and enable it if they want to.

Live Audio Commentary

In addition to the Live Facecam feature which allows the user to record using the front-facing camera, you can limit the recording to the device's microphone so the user can do audio commentary while they play.

Implementing Live Facecam Support

The implementation of the Facecam feature to your game is detailed in the documents below, pick the correct one for your platform.
