OrcSDR started with a simple frustration: an SDR should not need a laptop, a bag of cables, and a desktop app every time you want to listen. It should be something you can pick up, turn on, and take outside.
With an M5Stack Tab5 and an RTL-SDR Blog V4, OrcSDR becomes that handheld radio: touch the screen, tune a station, see the signal, and hear what is around you.
- Connect the SDR and a suitable antenna. Getting Started has the short checklist.
- From the boot screen, wait for Ready, then tap OrcSDR.
- Open FM Radio, tune one familiar local station, and turn up the volume.
- You have your first win when you can hear the station and see its signal on the spectrum.
Home is your safe return point. It remembers the dashboards you used, shows the live spectrum and waterfall, and keeps the controls you need close by.

- ADS-B Aircraft — Experimental. Watch 1090 MHz aircraft traffic; the screenshots use demo aircraft.
- LoRa Monitor — Experimental. A receive-only view of compatible LoRa/Meshtastic traffic.

OrcSDR is an honest evolving project. The screens are real, but the labels above tell you what you can try now and what is still taking shape. If something works beautifully—or does not—share what you found.
