Requirements

  • An open.mp server for Windows. 3DAndreas was tested with open.mp 1.6.7, and only a Windows build is available for now.
  • No plugin. The streamer plugin is needed only to show physics objects with streamer objects.

Files

Download the latest release from Releases and extract it into the folder of the server:

File Purpose
components/3DAndreas.dll The component. open.mp loads every component of the folder.
qawno/include/3DAndreas.inc The include for scripts.
scriptfiles/3dandreas/world.db The map database.
scriptfiles/3dandreas/models.json The model settings: shapes and values of 203 models.
LICENSE.txt, LICENSE-Jolt.txt The licenses of 3DAndreas and of Jolt Physics.

The include

#include <open.mp>
#include <streamer>
#include <3DAndreas>

streamer is optional. When a script includes it before 3DAndreas, the include adds the public that moves streamer objects for A3D_AttachDynamicObject.

The first start

The component reads the database and builds the map when the server starts, then reads the model settings, and writes two lines:

3DAndreas 0.6.3: 38995 map objects from 11339 models, 307 water polygons and 179 surfaces of scriptfiles/3dandreas/world.db, read in 121 ms and built in 137 ms, 2 threads
3DAndreas 0.6.3: 203 models described by scriptfiles/3dandreas/models.json, read in 1.2 ms

Two warnings may come instead:

  • scriptfiles/3dandreas/world.db could not be read, so bodies collide only with each other and with static bodies. The database is missing or damaged, and no ColAndreas database was found either. Physics objects still work, but the map is empty.
  • ... is a ColAndreas database, so hits carry no surface and there is no water. The component fell back to scriptfiles/colandreas/ColAndreas.cadb. See Map database.

Updating

Replace the DLL and the include, then recompile the scripts to use what is new. A script compiled with an older include keeps working as long as the natives it calls kept their arguments. An argument added at the end of a native takes its default in scripts compiled before it.

Next

Configuration lists the settings. Physics objects and World queries explain the two halves of the component.
