$surname->getIdnr()

Up: class Surname

This method returns the unique internal numeric key value of the current record. Although this field is maintained for backward compatibility it should be used as little as possible as the value of the Surname field is the natural unique key of this record and depending upon IDNR could result in the creation of duplicate records.
