Powerline

Powerline was originally a Vim plugin to make a better status line tool. Now Powerline has expanded to becoming a status line tool for other applications such as Tmux, IRSSI, and WeeChat.

However, Powerline's features come at a price. Namely it relies on Python which for Raspberry Pi users is taxing. One person online stated that it took them two seconds to do somethings. It's reasons like that may have motivated the [SPF13-Vim] folks to use the lighter Airline plugin.

So why do we install this anyway?
