Thanks to Github, many resources that were scattered among different websites have found a common ground.

The Rigel Linuxes will be Slackware-ish, in that you install theme from sources rather than binaries. Slackware Linux borrowed quite a bit of BSD philosophy to create an amazing distro, but at the same time the Slackware guys have been a bit resistant to changes because of some of the changes in GNU governance.

Personally, I don't give a care. And would rather use this page to list all the resources that you'll probably want to collect off of Github.

The Software!

  • The Linux Kernel - Maintained by the creator of Linux himself, Linus Torvalds!

  • GLIB

  • GTK+

  • Python

  • GCC - I was thinking clang, but I really like to stick with what I know and use GCC

  • PERL

  • Fluxbox

  • Tmux

  • URXVT a.k.a. rxvt-unicode

  • IRSSI - Chat client

Post installation suggestions

  • Ruby from RVM.io
  • Node from Node.js
