eeu.aff — Affix Table

Status: ✅ Cracked (structure); empty on this disc · 138 bytes · NOT_COMPRESSED

94-byte header, then a 44-byte body that is entirely zero bytes — exactly 1 record of 44 bytes (per the header's own record-count field — see Header Trailer Fields, also cracked while investigating this file), and that one record carries no real data on this disc.

Fully characterized structurally — there's nothing left to decode: the header's record-count field (1), the body length (44), and the all-zero content all agree with each other. Just not semantically informative here.

What it probably is

The name plausibly stands for "affix" (compare Hunspell's own .aff file convention for spell-checking/word-stripping rules), which would fit naturally alongside this disc's other language/TTS-support files (eeuz.pca, eeu.abc). A single empty record is consistent with "this East-Europe dataset's languages don't need any affix-stripping rule for search/TTS normalization" — plausible, not independently confirmed (no other disc region was available to compare against a non-empty .aff).

Reader code

research/aff_reader.py — read_aff().

A bigger side-finding

Investigating this tiny file's header led to cracking 3 more fields in the shared 94-byte header used by every NOT_COMPRESSED file on the disc — see Header Trailer Fields for the full write-up, including derived record-size candidates for 5 other still-unexamined files.
