@man572142 man572142 released this 03 Oct 02:54

Ver. 3.3.0

New Features

  • Library Manager search: fuzzy-search entities by name or clip name. Results are grouped per asset.

Fixes

  • Per-type volume: the stored volume is now always applied to a starting player, including when it is exactly 1.
  • SetEffect(...).ForSeconds(), .Until() and .While(): no longer throw ArgumentOutOfRangeException when the effect's fade time is 0. This also fixes .While() on dominator players (AsDominator()).
  • ResetAllEffect() no longer fires its completion callback early.
  • Sample-data reads past the end of a clip are now clamped in Audio Clip Editor.

Upgrading from v2.x.x to v3.x.x

SoundID has been completely rearchitected from an integer-based struct to a direct AudioEntity ScriptableObject reference. That means no more loading every audio asset into memory on startup whether you use it or not. Better runtime performance, better memory usage.

Breaking Change Notice: Every SoundID in your project will need to be migrated. But don't worry, a SoundID Upgrader will automatically launch on update and handle the migration for you.

⚠️Before updating, make sure you have a project backup or everything committed to version control.

Ver. 3.2.3

New Features

  • Issue Reporter

Fixes

  • Fixed a volume glitch where a reused mixer track briefly carried over the previous sound's volume.
  • Audio Clip Editor now copies the original clip's import settings onto the edited clip, so saved edits keep the same setup instead of falling back to defaults.
  • Fixed compatibility warnings/errors on newer Unity versions.

BroAudio 3.2.2

Choose a tag to compare

@man572142 man572142 released this 13 Jul 18:07

Fixes

  • Fix mid-play SetPitch() leaving sample-accurate loop/scheduled-end times stale, causing loop-seam gaps or skipped audio.
  • Fix SetPitch(pitch, fadeTime) called before/during playback start snapping to the target pitch before fading from default.
  • Fix explicit SetPitch() being re-randomized by the entity's pitch randomization instead of used verbatim.
  • Fix AudioMixer.SetFloat() silently failing on the game's first Awake()/OnEnable() (long-standing Unity issue).
  • Fix a double-teardown "Invalid target player" error on players scheduled with SetScheduledEndTime().
  • Fix Library Manager entity list/SoundID dropdown not refreshing after duplicating an entity outside the asset output path.

Ver. 3.2.0

New Features

  • Unity Localization integration
  • Virtual AudioTrack recycling for Generic players - Generic players now release their mixer track back to the pool while inaudible and reacquire one on demand, reducing the number of live mixer tracks.
  • Sample-accurate looping – loops are now driven by audio dsp time, so normal loops can also be played seamlessly.
  • Change Clip Per Loop – audio entities can now pick a different clip on every loop iteration.
  • Cross-loop volume fades – volume changes via IAudioPlayer.SetVolume() now carry across loops.
  • Multi-sequence instance support - the same sequence-mode entity can drive multiple independent player instances without sharing state.
  • IAudioPlayer.GetVolume() and supporting chaining APIs.

Editor

  • BroAudio editor windows are now also accessible under Window ▸ Audio ▸ BroAudio.
  • The Play Mode dropdown is now always visible in the Library Manager.
  • Renamed the two Addressable toggles for clarity: the Clips tab toggle is now "Addressable Audio Clips" and the Overall tab toggle is now "Addressable Entity Asset", each tooltip naming the other.

Improvements & Optimizations

  • StopControl now honors overrideFade when a natural fade-out is already in progress, so an explicit stop request can shorten or lengthen an in-flight fade.
  • Chained play mode editor preview was reworked to better match runtime behavior.
  • Release verbs are now guarded against a torn-down SoundManager, so shutdown / domain-reload paths no longer throw.
  • LastEditAudioAsset moved to EditorPrefs so it no longer churns version control.
  • Addressable cleanup is now scoped via conditional compilation so it no longer runs in builds that do not include Addressables.

Bug Fixes

  • Fix IMGUI layout exception when switching MulticlipsPlayMode.
  • Suppress the "invalid ID" error when the audio player is stopped in the same frame it was played.
  • Fix follow-target plays being treated as global by the comb-filtering distance rule, which caused DefaultPlaybackGroup's "Ignore If Distance Is Greater Than" check to be skipped.
