2. Running deconvolution software
The deconvolution GUI is written with MATLAB App Designer.
- the current working directory of MATLAB is in the root folder of the GUI: It should be something like this: xxxx\xxxx\xxxxx\FLImBrushDataProcessingTool where xxxx depends on where you put the software on your local harddrive.
- Add the entire 'FLImBrushDataProcessingTool' folder and its subfolder to your MATLAB path. You can find more information about how to do it here.
- Make sure no early version of the code is in your MATLAB path! This is the most common cause for the code to not run properly!
To start the deconvolution GUI. You can:
- Run it from the MATLAB command window by typing 'mainTriplexGui' and pressing ENTER.
OR
- Double click on the file 'mainTriplexGui.mlapp' to open it in the App Designer and run it from there.
The GUI utilizes parallel computing to improve data processing speed. After starting the GUI, it usually takes ~30 for the parallel pool to start. You will see the following message in your MATLAB command window indicating the successful start of the parallel pool.
'Starting parallel pool (parpool) using the 'local' profile ...
Connected to the parallel pool (number of workers: 7).'
The number of workers will depend on your PC. For multicore CPU, this should be the number of cores. For high-end CPUs with multithreading capabilities such as Intel Xeon or AMD Ryzen 5000 series CPUs, the number of workers will double your core count.
