Templates
A template is artwork placed at a position on Wplace. Caelestis lists local, server, and native Wplace templates in the panel.
Hover Local and click its import icon, outlined below, or click Import a template beneath the list. Choose a PNG, Blue Marble export, or .wplace file. Follow Getting started for placement.

Hover a row to reveal its buttons. Right-click the row for its actions menu. On touch, use its actions button. The available actions depend on where the template lives and your server permissions.

| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Go to | Moves the map to the artwork. |
| Move | Repositions a local template on the map. Confirm or cancel the placement when finished. |
| Rename | Edits the name in the tree. Press Enter to save or Escape to cancel. |
| Export .wplace | Downloads a native Wplace template file. |
| Copy to a server | Copies local artwork to a server where you have administrator access. |
| Use canvas artwork | Replaces the source image with the committed artwork currently on Wplace. |
| Delete | Removes the template from its store after confirmation. |
For server templates, administrators also get Move to folder, Replace artwork, publication controls, and Mark as….
Changing the overlay's appearance does not change the source image. Use canvas artwork and Replace artwork do.
Open a folder's actions menu to create a child folder or import artwork into it. Drag rows to organise the tree.
Search finds templates by name. The filter button beside search narrows the list by source, visibility, state, alarms, claims, or tags.

The sort button changes the order of the list. Use it to find new templates or compare remaining work.

In the panel popout, switch between the tree and a preview grid. The grid shows artwork cards and lets you open a template's progress beside the library.
Caelestis reads Wplace's personal and alliance templates, including their folders and appearance. These stores remain separate from Local and connected servers.
Export with Export .wplace when you want to move artwork between Caelestis and Wplace's native tools.
A server administrator imports and publishes artwork for the group. Unpublished templates are visible to administrators, not ordinary readers.
Use Progress and collaboration for progress, favourites, and finished or frozen states.
