Added FW_VERSION tracking system with version-history comments. This is the first release where firmware versions are first-class — the boot LED and ACK-payload status both report FW_VERSION so the host can verify what's actually running on each unit.
No functional changes from v5 beyond the version-stamping infrastructure.
