Installing a beta version

Careful! Only use one version of the Forge Hammer at all times, so you don't run into errors that might lead to data loss.

This guide is only for chromium based browsers like Edge, Chrome, Opera, Brave, Vivaldi, etc.

1. Download

You have two options:

• Grab the zip file from GitHub regularly to get the latest changes
• Use a git manager: just start the software, fetch and pull latest changes

a) Download

• Download this zip file: https://github.com/outoftheline/forge-hammer/archive/refs/heads/main.zip
• Unzip it

b) Git manager

1. Download GitHub Desktop https://desktop.github.com/download/
2. In GitHub Desktop select: File - Clone repository
3. Select URL and use this one https://github.com/outoftheline/forge-hammer/
4. Select a local path and download
5. Change current branch to "develop"

2. Add it to your browser

• Open the extension overview in your browsers menu
• Activate developer mode - usually found in the top right corner
• Click on "add unpacked extension" and select the local path (something like (/Users/stuff/forge-hammer/)

3. Get updates

• With direct download: grab the zip file again and repeat the steps
• With a git manager: open GitHub Desktop, click Fetch origin and maybe pull origin

Debugging

We sometimes change some structural things, so if something is not right, try opening your browsers extensions page and hit the "reload" icon for the Forge Hammer
