Measurements

The measurement tools live in the float toolbar at the top of the stage (and under the Measure card in the inspector). Pick a tool, then draw on the image; results are calibrated in the image's real units.

Tools

Tool Shortcut What it does
Line profile L Click two points; plots intensity (or height) vs distance
Box profile B A width-averaged profile along a rectangle
Polyline P A profile along a multi-segment path
Distance D Calibrated point-to-point distance
Angle G Three-point angle
ROI stats R Rectangle/ellipse with live mean / std / min / max / area

Line & box profiles

A profile opens a dock plot at the bottom of the stage with a properly calibrated x-axis (distance in nm/µm/Å, not pixels) and the title showing the line length. Use the ⊥ width control to average across the line, and the mean / sum toggle to choose the reduction. The button exports the profile to CSV with the calibrated x-axis.

Tip — the profile respects tilt correction (set in the Tilt Correction card), so cross-section vs plan-view geometries report the right lengths.

ROIs and annotations

  • ROI stats report mean, standard deviation, min, max, and area over a rectangle or ellipse, updating as you drag.
  • Annotations — text, arrow, box, and circle — are placed from the same toolbar and are baked into exports.

Selected measurements can be restyled (the Overlay Style card) and are listed for selection; everything is drawn as a crisp overlay over the image and exported with it.
