New features: script buttons, live mode, macro recorder and more #1230

I know that nowadays everything is "AI" ;) but my old fashioned expectation regarding a macro recorder would be that it directly records and produces code which can be saved/edited/loaded/executed on the first order (and having AI in the loop on the second order). Like all the programs 30 years ago with VBA. That requires as far as I understand internal language bindings, ideally agnostic in case someone prefers python, lua or sth. else to JS. Probably we can go into that direction? There are ready made solutions for those, e.g. pybind11 for pythion, certainly sth. for JS. And I believe "macro" is now used as a name for two different recently added features (see template/macro which should be renamed as what you added now more resembles what is usually called a macro). I can add later more comments. |

Everything can be changed, one of the problems with AI is its doen't do GUI very well. So the theory was you could manually do a task and AI can wee what you have done and make it better. Im not sure ifits a naming prblem or a feature problem. Do we need real macro recorder? My theory is the old macro is dead and AI is the future? |

Update, 2 October: most of these have now merged, so they are in development builds made since then (not yet in a release). Three are still waiting for review. Each one has a wiki page that explains how it works. Menu names are in French, as QElectroTech shows them until the translations catch up.
In development builds since 2 October
Script buttons (#1219, #1220, #1221, #1224)
Store a script and run it from a button with an icon, from its own keyboard shortcut, or from command search, instead of picking the file each time. One click is undone with one Ctrl+Z. You can write the script yourself in Projet > Scripts > Gérer les scripts…, or ask an AI assistant to write it, test it on a copy of your project, and store it.
Live mode (#1222, #1223, #1225)
An AI assistant works on the project you have open while you watch. It is off by default and warns you at every start. By default it shows you each script before it runs, and each of its actions is undone with one Ctrl+Z.
Macro recorder (#1227, #1228)
Do a task once by hand while recording, then paste one ready-made request into your assistant. It turns the recording into a script button, and checks that the script does exactly what you did.
The arc's middle handle (#1211) no longer covers a resize handle.
A sheet's wire defaults for assistants (#1214)
An AI assistant can set a sheet's wire defaults, such as one wire number per potential.
Still waiting for review
Fillet (#1212)
Round the corner between two drawn lines.
Editing several wires at once (#1205)
Select several wires and change their properties together in the Selection properties panel.
"Sheet" instead of "folio" (#1216)
The English interface says "sheet", the word electricians use.
What would help: try a development build and say what works, what doesn't, and what you would want next. The open questions about script buttons and live mode are in #1226.
