Attachments
An attachment is a file attached to a work item or a page. This page covers uploading, the file list, downloading, removing, and who can read a file.
Open a work item and scroll to Attachments. Click Upload, or drop one or more files onto the section. Pasting an image into a description, a comment, or a page body attaches it the same way, without you opening this section at all.

A page's attachments work the same way, from inside the page's editor —
see The wiki. You need the attachment.create permission atom to
attach a file to a work item, or page.write to attach one to a page.
Radd refuses a file over 25 MB; your administrator sets this limit.
An image, other than SVG, shows as a thumbnail; anything else shows as a labeled file chip. Point at a file to see its name, size, and which storage host holds it. An instance can spread its files across more than one host; the file list always says which one a given file is on.
Click a file to open it in a new tab. This always fetches the file at its full, original size. A page or a comment may display a smaller version of the same image inline — see Images in the editor, below.
Point at a file. Click the X that appears to remove it. You may
always remove a file you uploaded yourself; removing someone else's
needs the attachment.delete permission atom on a work item, or
page.manage on a page.
Removing a file removes it everywhere it appeared, and deletes its bytes from storage. This cannot be undone.
A file is readable by default: everyone who can already read its work item or page can read it too. Click the lock icon on a file to open its access panel. Name the people, teams, or roles allowed to read it instead. An outline lock appears on hover for an open file; a filled lock always shows on a restricted one.
Naming anyone closes the file to everyone else. The person who uploaded it always keeps access, and so does anyone who can already write the work item or page. A restriction can never lock out its own author.
Radd may ask you where to store a file. It asks only when your administrator has set up more than one place files can go, and the choice can actually change the outcome. An upload that would land on the same host either way never asks. Dismissing the prompt cancels the whole upload; nothing is sent.
There is no single right answer to which storage host to select — an administrator sets up the options for a reason specific to your instance. Ask your administrator which one to use if you are unsure.
Drag an inserted image's edge to resize it, in a page or in a comment. The width you set rides in the image's own URL. This way the server sends a smaller file for a resized image, instead of your browser scaling down the full one. See The wiki for the full picture of the editor.
A public space's pages are readable with no sign-in, but an attached image is not. The image endpoint still checks who is asking today, so an inline image goes blank for a visitor with no account. Use an externally hosted image URL in a page you plan to publish, for now.
