Clear the desk in one keystroke. A small native macOS menu bar app that minimizes, closes, quits or force quits all your open apps and windows at once, from global shortcuts. It is not an app switcher.
brew install --cask roypadina/tap/window-organizer- Installation: Homebrew, release zip, first launch (not notarized), upgrade, uninstall.
- Usage and shortcuts: the four actions, default shortcuts, every Settings control.
- Permissions: Accessibility, what needs it, what to do after an update.
- Troubleshooting: icon missing, shortcuts not firing, windows not minimizing.
- FAQ: which apps are targeted, Spaces, safety, save dialogs.
-
Building from source: SwiftPM, tests,
package_app.sh, signing, release zip.
- Install with the command above and open Window Organizer from
/Applications. A menu bar icon appears (no Dock icon). - Grant Accessibility: menu bar icon → Settings… → General → Grant Access…. See Permissions.
- Press ⌃⌥⌘M to minimize every window, ⌃⌥⌘W to close them, ⌃⌥⌘Q to quit apps, ⌃⌥⌘⇧Q to force quit (asks first).
- Exclude apps you never want touched in Settings… → Apps.

If Window Organizer clears your desktop in one keystroke, you can support its development — it's optional and always appreciated.
