Permissions

Accessibility

Needed for: Minimize all windows, Close all windows. Quit and force quit work without it.

macOS only lets apps read and change other apps' windows through the Accessibility API, and only with your permission.

  1. Menu bar icon → Settings… → General.
  2. Click Grant Access… (macOS shows its prompt and opens the Accessibility pane).
  3. In System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, turn on Window Organizer.

The status in Settings → General updates when you come back to the app.

After an update

Since 0.2.0 every release is signed with the same certificate, so the grant survives updates. Coming from 0.1.0 (ad-hoc signed), macOS may silently stop trusting the old grant: the switch still looks on, but minimize/close do nothing and the app keeps asking. Fix it once by resetting and granting again:

tccutil reset Accessibility com.padina.window-organizer

Then open Window Organizer and grant Accessibility again.

What it does not need

No Screen Recording, no Automation (Apple Events), no network, no Full Disk Access.
