Installation

Requires macOS 14 Sonoma or newer.

Homebrew (recommended)

brew install --cask roypadina/tap/window-organizer

Release zip

Download Window-Organizer.zip from the latest release, unzip it and move Window Organizer.app to /Applications.

First launch (not notarized)

The app is self-signed, not notarized, so macOS may block the first launch. Either:

  • right-click Window Organizer.app in /Applications → Open, then Open Anyway in System Settings → Privacy & Security, or
  • clear the quarantine flag once:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Window Organizer.app"

Then grant Accessibility: see Permissions.

Launch at Login

Settings… → General → Launch at Login. It uses the native login item API (SMAppService), so it shows up in System Settings → General → Login Items.

Upgrade

brew upgrade --cask window-organizer

After an upgrade, re-check Accessibility (see Permissions → After an update).

Uninstall

brew uninstall --zap --cask window-organizer

Or quit it from its menu, drag /Applications/Window Organizer.app to the Trash, and remove it from Login Items. Preferences live in the defaults domain com.padina.window-organizer (defaults delete com.padina.window-organizer).
