What is a Subutai Peer

Alex Karasulu edited this page Mar 7, 2018 · 1 revision

A Subutai Peer is a node on the Internet that can share resources with other Subutai Peers by running the Subutai P2P OS.

Management Container

A Subutai Peer MUST run at least one very special container called the management container. This container handles peer management operations and exposes interfaces for both computer and human interaction via REST API's and a Console UI respectively. Obviously this container MUST run on at least one host that has resources.

Resource Hosts

Subutai Peers are composed of one or more physical or virtual machines. Let's just say machine from now on. These machines provide the resources that are shared or rented out to cloud, Subutai Environment, owners by the peer. These machines MUST run the Subutai Snap to be added to the Subutai Peer. Once added they augment the resources of the peer.
