Quotes and automatic quotes

Examples use !; replace it with the configured trigger (m, #, etc.). See notation, transport and permissions. Each entry names its registered IRC surfaces; a handler accepting a private context does not itself make a name callable by PM. Plugin and dynamic-command policy may add restrictions.

halloffame

Alias of topquote; the same options, defaults and checks apply.

Use q r for a random quote; bare q displays syntax. Quotes are scoped to the invocation channel. Quote text is at most 512 characters; | separates displayed quote fragments. Search matches the supplied words literally, escapes SQL wildcard characters, and reports a ranked excerpt/IDs or a failure/empty result instead of silence. Read/search/random/stats and the historical anonymous add path are public. Deletion needs an authenticated User+ who is the author, Administrator+, or meets the target channel deletion threshold (default 100, configurable 0–500).

Nickname retrieval and count are compatibility forms. The quote add dispatcher call has a signature mismatch with the quote mutator in this snapshot; use q add for reliable additions. Bare quote asks for a target. This wiki update does not alter that runtime code. See documentation discrepancies.

quotecount

Count quotes by author on the channel.

Access: public. IRC surfaces: channel.

Counts quotes in the invocation channel, optionally by author nick.

randomquote

Inspect or set the automatic quote frequency; Administrator or target channel level 450.

Access: Authenticated Administrator+ or target channel 450+. IRC surfaces: channel + private message.

Duration is a positive integer with optional m, h, d (case-insensitive); bare integers are minutes. Accepted interval: 15 minutes–7 days. default removes the channel override, not the enable switch. Default is valid main.MAIN_PROG_QUOTE_CHANNEL_TIMER or three hours. +RandomQuote enables and -RandomQuote pauses; setting frequency does not enable it. PM requires explicit channel. Replies are private. The 30-second scheduler sends at most one quote at an eligible attempt, requires JOIN and skips empty channels/quote sets; no catch-up burst. State is private .randomquote-state.json, independent of source updates.

topquote

Channel hall of fame: the most-recalled quotes (default 5, max 10). Alias: halloffame

Access: public. IRC surfaces: channel.

!topquote [n]

Count defaults to 5 and is clamped 1–10. Rankings use quote recall hits, not message volume.
