cat VERSION
grep -Eq '^3\.6dev-' VERSIONThe default branch advances as development work lands. Pin a commit when repeatable evaluation matters.
The supplied 3.6dev-20261006_084503 tree includes development beyond stable 3.5, notably:
- shared public radio requests behind
+Radio, with a central API and catalogue; -
nextsonganddeltrackprivileged controls; - optional
+Witand+Quipconversation modes; -
+Sparkand+SparkActionproactive channel activity; - native RSS persistence and feed commands;
- current TinyURL/short URL routing fixes;
- continued provider-neutral AI, Hailo and Gemini work.
Registration migrations do not enable these features on existing channels. Enable only the intended pilot channel after config, migration, tests and rollback planning.
During development:
perl -I. -c mediabot.pl
perl t/test_commands.pl --case <number> --progress
perl t/test_commands.pl --fast --progressRun the complete suite once on the exact final candidate immediately before commit:
perl t/test_commands.pl --progressDo not use repeated full runs as a substitute for focused diagnosis. See Testing.
For an optional feature:
- apply its official migration through Database migrations;
- synchronize the config and validate schema drift;
- keep global send gates disabled until prerequisites are proven;
- enable the feature on one selected channel with
!chanset; - observe the application log and real IRC behavior;
- remove the chanset or restore the previous config if the pilot fails.
Never bulk-enable a new capability by editing CHANNEL_SET directly.
Production users who do not explicitly need development features should install Mediabot 3.5 through the stable path in Installation.
