Convenience and Files
Skips the experimental-features world/backup confirmation associated with the datapack. OFF leaves Minecraft's normal warning in place. This changes a client prompt; it does not change world settings, remove experimental features, rewrite a datapack, or replace ordinary world backups.
Companion preferences are client-wide. World detection selects the supported content profile separately for each world, but does not create a separate visual preset or configuration for every save. A personal preset can be selected when you want a different appearance.
Paths are relative to the Minecraft instance directory, which may differ from the launcher's default .minecraft folder.

Use the in-game settings where possible. If manually editing configuration, close Minecraft first and back up the file. Do not copy configuration from unrelated mods into these files. Exporting a preset is the intended way to share visual preferences without transferring catalogue/convenience settings.
The Companion applies selected resource layers using Minecraft's normal resource system. Saving visual changes can show a resource-loading screen. Multiple staged changes can be applied together from the root Save Changes action. User resource packs stay higher priority than Companion layers.
Required custom-content assets cannot be disabled through ordinary visual presets. Required message translations remain available with Vanilla optional visuals. Catalogue changes rebuild client listings/search where appropriate; they do not edit world inventories.
Close Minecraft and remove its JAR from the client's mods folder. Its client artwork, catalogue additions and convenience features disappear. It does not remove installed Matcha gameplay data, delete world items, or convert custom stacks. Keep required Matcha resource support through your chosen installation if you continue playing Matcha without the Companion.
