A running controller powers everything within 20 tiles, and pays for all of it: your house, the shed, and the neighbours' house too.
- Fridges and freezers always run: their compressors draw day and night.
- Everything else counts only while it is switched on: lights, stoves, TVs, radios, washers, dryers.
- See the list on System monitor › LOADS.
- Two controllers that reach the same fridge both pay for it, like two petrol generators.
- With Sandbox Simulate appliance load off, nothing is billed.
- While the town grid still has power, appliances run on the grid and cost your batteries nothing.
| Appliance | Watts |
|---|---|
| Fridge (always) | 120 W |
| Freezer (always) | 150 W |
| Fridge-freezer (always) | 200 W |
| Radio | 22 W |
| Light, switched on | 55 W |
| TV | 95 W |
| Battery charger | 250 W |
| Washer | 480 W |
| Washer-dryer | 1200 W |
| Stove or microwave | 1400 W |
| Dryer | 1800 W |
- One fridge-freezer for 10 hours: 2.0 kWh
- Four lights left on for 10 hours: 2.2 kWh
- One battery in a Battery Bank, above its 15% floor: 0.61 kWh
That is about 7 batteries, or switch the lights off and it's 4.
