Updating

Run the installer again:

bash ~/homecanvas/install.sh

It sees HomeCanvas is already installed and offers to update: it fetches the latest version, rebuilds, and restarts the panel. Your settings, dashboard layout and uploaded sounds are kept. They live in ~/.config/homecanvas, not with the code.

Answer no to go through the whole setup again instead, for example to rename it or reconnect Immich.

If you copied the code to the Pi yourself

If HomeCanvas was sent over from another computer (scripts/sync.sh), it can't fetch updates itself. The installer says so and rebuilds what's there. Send the new version the same way, or build it with scripts/run.sh from that computer.
